Automobiles in German Town Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Officers reported they were notified by a individual who noticed a vehicle in Hanau marked with reddish substance

Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement report they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Police then discovered multiple other marked vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement say early analysis suggest the fluid was probably blood from a person.

"At present there remains no lead as to its origin; investigators are currently not cognizant of any harm in association with the event," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the public for tips.

A senior official said the incident made him without words and had to be solved quickly.

"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the death of nine victims by a gunman focusing on people of immigrant origin in five years prior.
