A Pair of Detentions in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
